Dell Open Manage Using Old Version of Apache in Appliance
I was wondering if Dell will ever mitigate this by upgrading the version of Apache it uses in the Appliance? Currently it is using 2.2.15 and has multiple vulnerabilities plus its EOL. My company is writing us up on our security report because of this. Is there anyway for Dell to upgrade the version of apache they are using?

Jerky_san,
As far as I am aware of there will not be another Essentials update. The reason being is the tool is outdated and has been replaced with OpenManage Enterprise, which I believe doesn't use the same tech as Essentials.
Would you clarify a couple things for me?
What version of OpenManage is being used, as well as what scanner tool you are using? That way I can look into this further.
Thanks.

I'm using OpenManage essentials as its what our dell enterprise rep sold us on since we only use dell servers for VMWare. We installed the essentials OVA and have been running 4.3. I guess since dell is no longer updating it we basically bought a worthless package?
I don't know what "scanner tool" means btw. No one ever guided us with the Open Manage setup and honestly it's never done anything the Dell sales rep promised us of Updating firmware and stuff. I've never found where you can actually do that in vCenter.

Jerky_san,
The Dell OpenManage tools are free, if you go to support.dell.com and enter your svc tag or choose the system, you can then put the OS drop down to your ESXi version and under System Mgmt you will find the OpenManage tools. You can delete OpenManage Essentials and install OpenManage Enterprise.
