Dell OMSE -- New User / Evaluator -- Help Needed.
Hi Guys,
I currently have OMSE installed and am playing around with it. I have 3 devices installed.
1) Dell Networking N2024P
2) Dell / Force10 S50N
3) Dell PowerEdge 1950
For #1, here are the following issues:
Under the "Data Sources" heading, I have one entry "Dell Networking N2024P", with a yellow triangle to the left of it with a exclatmation point. What does this mean?
What can Dell OMSE do for Dell Networking N2000 series switches? This looks like info I'm already gathering via SNMP in my NMS system.
For #2, I'm pretty much not seeing any info for this device. Is this a supported device? I'm assuiming not.
For #3, I have Yellow triangle'd exclamation points next to Server Administrator and Also Server Administrator (Storage Management).
Can someone please help me out with that stuff?
Thanks!
Brad

Hi Brad,
Thanks for the query and apologies for a late reply.
Please find the responses below per device type:
1) The yellow triangle with an exclamation mark indicates that the device health is in a warning state. This essentially means that the device is running in a degraded state and functionality could be limited. You can launch respective switch console to know more about current state and observe any error/failure conditions.
Dell OME allows you to monitor health, link and launch switch console, and, receive formatted SNMP alerts/traps of Dell Networking N2000 series switches,
2) Force10 S50N is not a supported device. It should be classifying under Unknown device group. Please have a look at the latest (v2.2) support matrix for the list of supported devices: www.dell.com/.../Introduction
3) Same a #1 above. Please launch Server Administrator console using right-click option on the device to get more details about the current state of the server.
Hope this helps!
