Deleting Un-Instrumented Devices
Hello,
I have an issue when trying to delete un-instrumented devices from the device tree. They seem to delete fine via the GUI, but when the next discovery cycle runs, they are re-added to the Unknown list, even if the device itself is off and no longer pinging back.
I guess at some point, someone had turned off the Instrumented Devices check box and had a scan run, and that's why I'm seeing them. But as of now, the Instrumented Devices is checked and I can't seem to delete these items.
I've read some posts on having to delete the range from DiscoveryConfiguration table in MSSQL, but I would rather not have to recreate all my ranges again.
Unfortunately, I have over 2000 devices in the unknown tree and it's almost impossible to see if the device is non-Dell, or if I have an OMSA or SNMP issue.
On the latest 2.1 version.

Update:
I just tried deleting the device via MSSQL from the Device table, then restarting the services. Upon inspection, the device was gone from the Unknown list, so I ran another discovery on the range. The device was then added back into the Unknown list, even though it is an un-instrumented VM.

My post won't help you, but you should know you're not alone having this problem...
I've been struggling with the "Non-Working-Discover-Intrumented-Devices-Only-Option" since the release of OME 2.1 (in September 2015!)
Dell seems to be aware of the issue, but has not published a solution yet. :-(
Threre are a couple of other threads on this subject:

Hi, thanks for the query.
This is a known issue with OME 2.1. Please contact Dell Support, they should be able to help you with a patch for this and few other known issues.
