Creating a deployment task for OMSA Upgrade

Hello,

I'm trying to create a task to upgrade OMSA on my windows servers.  What's giving me an issue is the Installer path.  If I browse to the location of my .msi file and I've placed all of the under the \packages folder it won't display the correct path in this field.  It keeps showing the following:

Installer Path "C:\fakepath\sysmgmtx64.msi"                                   Browse

It doesn't matter where I place the .msi file (the server has an C:\ and E:\ drives

Any ideas?

Thanks

charles

Hi, Thanks for the post.

What is the browser you are using ? Is the task failing to upgrade or just it is showing fake path ?

I believe showing fakepath is a security implementation of browser.

If you are using IE, then try go to Internet Explorer, Tools, Internet Option, Security, Custom, find the "Include local directory path When uploading files to a server" (it is quite a ways down) and click on "Enable" .

Let us know if this works for you.

On a side note, Deploy Server Administrator task will not work from remote browser. Use the browser locally on the box where OME is installed.

Thanks,

Arun

It would be nice if the documentation included that little tidbit about using the browser locally on the box where OME is installed.  Also how about some information on where to place the msi file.  On the box with OME or the remote box we are trying to deploy OMSA to?

Thanks for the suggestion. Will notify corresponding team to improve documentation around this area.

OMSA MSI should be placed in the system where OME is installed.
