Can OME scan switches for outdated firmware?
We use OME to tell us which servers need firmware, bios, etc updates. Can it do the same thing for dell switches? Not to actually push it out but to at least tell us that something is out of date?
Thanks.

Hi,
Thanks for your post!
Unfortunately the answer to your question is "no" as OME only supports Dell Servers to perform updates and list outdated firmware. But, in case of Dell Switches - OME can only report their current installed firmware under device details.
Hope this helps!
Thanks

Is there any utility that can alert me when new firmware comes out for switches?

Though late but might be helpful if it is still not fixed for you!
Just cross post your query in below forum, you might get some help there.

Just to add to this, we do have OpenManage Network Manager that is capable of this.
