Brocade FC Switches are showing up as multiple devices in OME 2.2

I currently am monitoring 4 Brocade FC switches (2x DCX-4's & 2 VA-40's) using SNMP in OME.

before upgrading from 2.1 to 2.2 of OME they showed up as 4 switches, as expected, post the upgrade I now show 79

I know there was a similar problem with MD Disks showing up as multiples in OME 2.1 and a hotfix made available upon request - does anyone know if there is a hotfix available to resolve this issue with 2.2 and Brocade switches?

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the post.

Can you give the following details to further analyze this at our end:

1. What is the firmware version running on this Switches?

2. Is the switch inventory details page for this duplicate switches showing valid service tag, if not valid what service tag it is showing (empty, none, etc.).

Thanks,
Vijay

1,  Firmware running on my Brocade VA-40s is FOS7.4.1c on the Brocade DCX-4S are running FOS 7.2.1b

2. Service Tag is showing up as empty (See view below)

Here's the discovery criteria used too

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the details related to device/firmware information.

Unfortunately, you have unearthed an issue with OME 2.2. I will suggest to call Dell Support and they will be able to help you with the fix for this issue.

Hello,

I know that it is an old post, but I'm facing the same situation today after installing OME 2.2.0.2056 console, and I can't find the solution.

I've got 2 M5424 in a M1000e chassis, and every day I've got 2 more devices in the list, with same name and Service Tag "none".

How to fix this? how to set a service tag/supplier serial number on the M5424?

I have updated the firmware of switches from v7.4.1b to v7.4.1d - no change.

Thanks for the help.

Hello,

thank you for your reply, I installed the fix yesterday but it seems like that doesn't work: this morning I found two lines for each M5424 modules.

I will contact Dell Support.

Thanks again.
