Alert Email Action not working

Hi,

On iDRAC:

I have created a SNMPv3 user in the iDRAC and enabled SNMP v3 in the protocol under Network>Services.

Selected SHA and AES as Authentication and Privacy type respectively.

Added the server ip address as the destination ip address under SNMP and Email settings where Open Manage Essentials resides.

on OME:

I created a Test Email Action for a single server where I have setup the SNMP v3 on the iDRAC.

Selected all the alert categories.

I even tested if test email is coming through and it is.

How do I now check if the SNMP v3 traps are actually reaching the Open Manage Essentials and how do I check if I get the actual email alerts?

Hi Prashant,

Thanks for the query.

You can now send a test trap from iDRAC and make sure it is reaching OME. If this is not production, you can try creating a manual alert by making some changes in server. For example, remove redundant power supply.

Ensure you have selected severities that you are interested in getting emails for. For testing purpose, you may select all options.

Very cool...That is what I was going to do test but I was wondering if there is any other methods to test.
