11Gen Device Names and OME 2.1.0

After upgrading to OME 2.1.0.2635 all my 11Gen servers are no longer listing their device names in OME. They are just showing their IP.

All servers are discovered via DRAC ws-man.

I deleted all devices just before the upgrade and ran a discovery and inventory after upgrade. Same discovery that was in place before upgrade. All 12Gen and 13Gen show just fine.

All iDRAC6 are at 1.99 firmware.

All iDRAC6 device name entries are complete valid TLDs (that used to be an issue)

All iDRAC6 device name show correctly when logged into DRAC (browser tab etc)

These devices listed just fine in the last version of OME.

Any ideas?

Hi cameron,

There is a sticky post at the top of the forum...not sure if it might be related to your problem.

Thanks,

Rob

Thanks Rob,

racadm sslresetcfg with a reset has no effect even after the device is deleted from OME and discovery/inventory rerun as the iDRAC6 device still shows as just an IP.

Ok,

Does the WSMan test from the Dell Troubleshooting Tool reveal anything useful?

Thanks,

Rob

Yes it reveals that OME is able to fully connect to DRAC and retrieve all the test data via wsman :)

I don't think it is a connectivity issue.

Thanks Wayne,

We have already tried reentering discovery credentials with the same result.

We do not use DNS in our OOB network.

This all worked fine for 11gen server in the last version of OME and I need to get the device names back as all our custom groups in OME use the device name for population.

All 12gen and 13gen show device name just fine but I still have about 100 11gen servers in OME.

As is expected with ping both return the IP in the ping response and both have the same low (less than 1ms) ping times. Our OOB /21 is all layer 2 and no device is more than 2 switches away in a single cage.

As mentioned all data in the Gen11 discovered devices is fine and it's fully showing all expected data for them for a wsman discovery EXCEPT the device name :(

Sadly I don't have time to <ADMIN NOTE: Profanity removed as per TOU> around with OME bug chasing anymore and will most likely just live with it until we deploy a new OME server moving from 2008 to 2012 which may be a few years as this is the ONLY windows server in our thousands of servers. /rant
