TPM firmware update fails
OMEnt shows an update needed for the PowerEdge TPM Module. The update failed. I ran the update manually and get the following error:
"This DUP requires TPM bootloader version 2.0.0.32 or later. Version 2.0.0.26 found".
I haven't found anything that indicates how to resolve this. Is this just another case of OMEnt requiring updates that aren't supported for my specific OS? I continually have this issue where it wants me to install updates on 2019 servers that only apply to 2022 or 2025 servers.
Any suggestions?

Hello,
I haven't see this so I'll need to check onto it.
What is the server model and OS you are running?
Can you also provide the link to the page you downloaded the file you tried manually?

@DELL-Charles R Sure; this is a PowerEdge R550 running Windows Server 2019.
OMEnt provides this link to the download: https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=256M6

Hi, Happy New Year to you!
Would you be able to send your service tag by DM? Direct Messaging | DELL Technologies R550 should most likely be in warranty.
Respectfully,

Hello,
justin gray - your Build shows system has TPM 151Y6 which should use this TPM update:
Dell PowerEdge 15G/16G Trusted Platform Module 2.0 Firmware 7.2.4.1
Only for TPM parts 948W4, 151Y6, 0PTVP, T2FR2, and VR2WC. DUP 256M6 is for TPM parts T9CVK & K6K71.

Michael.Ing - These are the two TPM update for the R760XS
If the first one doesn't work try the second one:
Dell PowerEdge 15G/16G Trusted Platform Module 2.0 Firmware 7.2.4.1
Only for TPM parts T9CVK & K6K71. DUP 2XHC3 is for TPM parts 948W4, 151Y6, 0PTVP, T2FR2, and VR2WC.

Dell PowerEdge 15G/16G Trusted Platform Module 2.0 Firmware 7.2.4.1
Only for TPM parts 948W4, 151Y6, 0PTVP, T2FR2, and VR2WC. DUP 256M6 is for TPM parts T9CVK & K6K71.

@DELL-Charles R Thanks. Yes, this is the correct version.
However, the underlying issue remains that OMEnt continually seems to assign incompatible drivers and firmware to our servers and then of course the installations fail and the servers continue to show a critical status due to missing updates (that don't actually apply to the server version).
I've posted about this mismatch several times in the past, but resolution has been elusive.

Hello, I can see that is frustrating.
I can report the issue to Systems Management.

Hi,
Both servers R450 and R750 service tag that you have provided as example, the server's TPM part is 151Y6.
You can refer to Charles reply on the links for Windows Server. As for VMware, there are various ways to update the firmware. 1 of the way is to use iDRAC/Lifecycle Controller update. For this method update, it uses the same Windows file .exe.
