OME SMBv3 Encryption Support?
For compliance reasons we're required to enforce encryption on SMB which means using SMBv3. We're trying to setup backups via CIFS but it only appears to support SMBv2 which does not work with SMB encryption. Looking online I found that SMBv3 was supported in Linux kernel 3.12 or later.
What's the blocker with OME that is keeping it from working with SMBv3 and what's the timetable to implement it?

Hi,
I looked around for any internal notes of the timeline version upcoming updates, but there isn't any publish releases that mentioned SMBv3. Perhaps if needed urgently to address your requirement for enforcement in your organization, I would suggest contacting the OME support to raise a support case for feature request or to seek alternative configuration with the engineer level to accommodate the compliance.

@DELL-Joey C thanks, I'll make a support case to get a request in.

Somewhere in 3.x Dell offer HTTPS instead of SMB. We used it from the beginning so the iDRAC fetch the packages by using HTTPS and a Webserver on the OME Appliance instead of CIFS/SMB.
But SMB is the default and you need to change it.
