OME 4.5, adding servers to Power Management don't work

I upgraded my OME-server to Version 4.5.0 (Build 34) and have now this great Power Mangement available.

But I'm not able to add servers which are not in the list. It looks like they are not "Power Management"-capable. Is there a setting I must activate to make them visible in the Power Management?

This concerns also newer models like G15 and G16. Some of them are in the list, some not. Some servers in the list would be found automatically, some of them are in the list "individual devices". It seems that I added them earlier to the old "Power Management"-PlugIn. But servers what were not in the list before the upgrade can't be added.

The physical hierarchy works fine. All servers where I filled the location field with the appropriate data appear in the dashboard and in the rack view. This is independent from the Power Management and works for all machines, new and old ones. Great feature BTW.

Hello,

One of the main reasons some servers (even newer ones like G15/G16) don’t show up as “Power Management-capable” is licensing. You’ll need the OpenManage Enterprise Advanced or Advanced+ license for those servers to be eligible for Power Manager. Without it, they won’t appear in the list, even if they’re discovered and inventoried properly.

Also, don’t overlook the iDRAC firmware version. In older setups, outdated iDRAC firmware was a common reason why devices didn’t show up in Power Manager. Make sure your iDRACs are updated to the latest version.

Hope that helps!

Hi!

Thank you. I checked the licenses and see that here is the difference. One of the not manageble G16 has only "iDRAC9 16G Enterprise License" while one of the managable servers has "OpenManage Enterprise with Advanced+ license". I will care for that new servers will have the appropriate license in the future.

Greetings Barbara
