Dell OpenManage Enterprise - Downgrades are available already for long time
Hi,
In Dell OpenManage Enterprise, I've got 3 downgrades available showing. Is Dell planning to eventually update Dell OpenManage drivers database with the new drivers, so it won't stop showing the downgrades? some of these drivers were released in 2020.

Hello,
What that is showing is that the R730 for example with 5720 QP rNDC 1G BASE-T firmware 22.61.8 is not valid.
Version 22.00.6 was the last one validated for the R730.
Examples:
R730
Broadcom NetXtreme network device firmware, 22.0 (22.00.6)

R740
Broadcom NetXtreme network device firmware, 22.6 (22.61.8 note that is not the latest for the R740. Latest would be 23.11.4)

So for those NIC the appliance wants to downgrade to the validated firmware for the NIC's

Hi Charles @DELL-Charles R,
Thank you for the information.
Do you think Dell will ever validate the new network drivers and other ones (I don't know how many Dell don't validate and stay outdated).
What's the reason that the last network drivers were validated in 2020 and nothing newer?

Hello,
It depends on if it is a 13th gen or 14th gen poweredge.
For 13th Gen Broadcom NetXtreme network device firmware, 22.0 (22.00.6 09 Mar 2022) was the last one validated.
For the 14th Gen Broadcom NetXtreme network device firmware, 22.6 (22.61.8 note that is not the latest for the R740. Latest would be 23.11.4, 10 Dec 2024)
I can't say when or which update are updated. You may check the next catalog that comes out.
