Can't upgrade to OpenManage Enterprise 4.6.0.59
Hi, I have a OME 4.5.0 (Build 34) instance and upgrade to 4.6.0.59 fails. Previous updates have worked without issues.
After starting the upgrade, it fails and OME shows the banner "Encountered errors in upgrade process. Appliance restored to prior version.", and the task detail are very generic:
" Failed to upgrade, system will reboot with previous working state. Please clear the browser cache before next login.
Completed".
Where could I have a look to understand what's going wrong?
Only other warning is "SHA-1 signed web server certificate is deprecated in OME version 4.6. Please update the OME web server certificate to use SHA-256 or stronger algorithm before upgrading.", shown even if the certificate is signed by a known CA and without SHA-1 in trust chain

@DELL-Erman O checked, all the jobs are completed with all the subtasks completed (I restored the appliance to a pre-upgrade-attempt snapshot)

Hello,
Have you tried exit OME, clearing the browser cache and retry the operation?

Hello,
Thank you for the update.
We note warning is "SHA-1 signed web server certificate is deprecated in OME version 4.6. Please update the OME web server certificate to use SHA-256 or stronger algorithm before upgrading."
Have you confirmed all certificates in the chain are SHA-256?
Recommended Actions
Update Web Server Certificate
If you verified that then you may need to contact Support directly to have an engineer get a look with you on this issue.

@DELL-Charles R yes, all the certificates in the chain are using "SHA-256 with RSA Encryption" as signature algorithm. Just to be sure, is it possible to revert to the default self-signed certificate like in the iDracs?

Hello,
in Application Settings > Security > Certificates you should have Remove or Revert to Default if I'm not wrong

Could you please Restart OME ?
ME includes a built‑in restart function:

Hello I don't know exactly how it is for you, but SHA 1 does not prevent from upgrades. And the other poster confirmed earlier that the all certificates are SHA-256. If you have the same and still experiencing issues, we need to deep dive. Could you please raise a ticket for this? https://www.dell.com/support/incidents-online/en-us/contactus/dynamic We need to look into the logs to see what is going on.
Respectfully,

thank you for the prompt response. i am reverting to the earlier VM checkpoint prior to the upgrade and will try again. if the same failure happens again, I'll raise the ticket. all certs are sha-256 or sha-512
