16 Premium DA16250, U4025QW, slow charging at 90W

I have the same laptop with the U4025QW and the SAME power issue. I tried all 3 Thunderbolt ports and using the Thunderbolt cable. Do I need to return my monitor as well?

Before returning, Dell GHN (Get Help Now) chat technical support must verify the ownership and warranty status. Click the blue "Get Help Now" on the right to start a private live chat session. Share the private Service Tag with them and all of your troubleshooting. This will in turn generate a unique Technical Support case for your unique Service Tag.

These ship with a 130W power adapter - so yes, it's normal that they will charge more slowly (and not run at full speed) with a 90W power input.  The system is only being supplied about 70% of the power it needs.

@DELL-ChrisM2 Are you confirming that there is a problem with the Dell Thunderbolt monitors supplying the necessary power for the Dell 16 Premium laptops? This is a bummer. I really like the laptop and the U4025QW monitor. What are my alternatives?

Working as designed. The U4025QW User's Guide confirms that 90 W maximum charging is expected for any systems not listed in the "Dell products compatible with USB Type-C Power Delivery 3.1 (Extended Power Range 140 W) Tech sheet" PDF =

- Dell Precision 5680 Workstation
- Dell Precision 5690 Workstation
- Dell Pro Max 14 Premium (Renegade 14)
- Dell Pro Max 16 Premium (Renegade 16)
- Dell Pro Max 16/18 Plus (Kingda Ka 16/18)
