16 Plus DB16250, randomly causes external monitor to go crazy

Recently purchased Dell 16 Plus DB16250 with Arc 140V GPU Graphics and Windows 11 to replace a Dell Latitude E6510. The old laptop was completely happy with my older (2013) Asus PB278Q monitor. Never had an issue. Immediatly after connecting new laptop I started getting random blow ups where the external monitor goes haywire. I have always worked with the laptop closed and only use the external monitor. The laptop / monitor is connected via a Dell dock SD25TB4. The dock is connected to the monitor via DisplayPort. I bought a new DisplayPort cable, but the issue persists. I cannot force this to happen, totaly random. When it does happen, i can unplug the DisplayPort cable from the dock and plug it back in and the monitor will come back. It still will flicker, but after a few minutes it settles down to normal..

Rarely ever happens anymore. Either it was something in the dozens of Windows/Dell/Intel updates i put on or the fact i removed the Preinstalled Mcafee software, has seemingly resolved this.

After some Windows, Dell and Intel updates, I haven't seen this total messed up screen since. It continues to randomly, like every couple of days or so, cause the text to become fuzzy, but only when I move the mouse or use the keyboard arrow keys. I noticed that is is only in Web apps like Google, Edge, gmail, google docs.. It never effects viewing files and folders or other windows programs, for example calculator. Any other apps i've installed are not effected either. Only web based apps cause this problem now. It can always be resolved by unplugging the laptop from the dock and plugging it back in.

The 2025 SD25TB4 and 2025 16 Plus DB16250 are verified to work together. I doubt that they are faulty.

The SD25TB4 has two DisplayPort 1.4 ports. Test them both to the 2012 Asus PB278Q DP in port.

Also, get an HDMI to HDMI cable, disconnect the DP to DP cable and test =

SD25TB4 HDMI 2.1 port --> HDMI to HDMI cable --> 2012 Asus PB278Q HDMI 1.4 in in port

@DELL-Chris M This same issue happens randomly regardless which Display Port I use or if I use HDMI. Like you said, I doubt there is an issue with the laptop or dock. I tried new cables, both HDMI and DP. It only effects the text inside of windowed web apps and office and then only when i move the mouse or keyboard. Hard to believe i am the only one that this happens to. I will at some point get a newer monitor, just seems crazy that i have to.
