16 Plus DB16250, PCIe Gen 5 NVMe SSD cards?
Does the Dell 16 Plus laptop (DB16250) support PCIe Gen 5 NVMe SSD cards?
The processor Core Ultra 7 258V seems to support it, but the manual doesn't state anything about Gen 5 support.
Also, what is the maximum card size supported? Can I install M.2 2280 cards?

Looks like only M.2 2230 drives are supported. And a Gen 5 drive will work - but at Gen 4 speed.

Yeah,
I already looked at that manual. It appears like there is space for M.2 2280 cards as the aluminum bracket is much longer than 2230 cards.
I did contact Dell support and they were unable to answer the question. 😒

@coltonrivers
There is x4 PCIe Gen 5 lanes on Lunar Lake processors and the image published by techpowerup also alludes to that fact. I am trying to find a definitive answer. The Dell manual is not helping.

The CPU may support PCIe 5, but the mainboards in these systems do not.
