15 DC15250, won’t power on from battery on first try – only starts on 3nd/4rd press

Hi, I have a Dell 15 DC15250 and it has a strange power-on issue.
When the charger is connected, it always turns on instantly.
But **on battery**, it behaves like this:

* 1st press – nothing
* 2nd press – nothing
* 3rd press – keyboard backlight turns on → laptop finally starts
All three presses are identical in force and duration.

I think windows is not involved. I already tried:
* BIOS reset to defaults
* disabled Modern Standby (S0)

I noticed this problem only happens when starting on battery, never on AC power.

The laptop is new, I didn’t notice this earlier because I almost always used plugged in.
Windows later updated the BIOS 1.4.1 automatically, and a few days after that I observed this issue for the first time — but I can’t confirm if it existed before, since I wasn’t using the laptop on battery back then.

Has anyone seen this on the DC15250 or similar Dell models?
Could this be an EC/BIOS firmware or battery calibration issue?

New within 30 days of shipment:  return for replacement or refund.

New outside of 30 days, call Dell to arrange a warranty repair.

I have a similar computer as yours. My new computer is Dell 16 Inspiron DC 16250 and its two-month-old.

When I first received my computer, I connected ac adapter to it and noticed no problems at all. Next day, tried turning on computer on battery power but computer will not power on. It took three or four times for my computer to power on. What I did was press the power button for about 2 seconds then computer will power on first tried. Any yes, same as your computer, it doesn't happen on AC adapter.

I do have some concerns about it. I did register my Dell computer, check my Dell Product Support page to make sure Dell has giving me a one-year warrant on my computer. I am planning on getting extending warranty as well.

@LSUFAN51 It's a shame this is happening; Dell isn't a small company. Has the situation worsened over the past two months, or Is everything working as usual?

I would also like to know the BIOS version of your laptop. I'm not sure, but I think that's the problem is in the poor quality of BIOS updates.
