14 Plus DB14250, rubber feet fallen off after only a few months

After only having my Dell 14 Plus DB14250 laptop for a few months the rubber feet have already fallen off, the adhesive put on has not kept them secure resulting in me losing the left rubber foot. I tried to raise this to Dell SupportAssist to see if they could send me a new foot, however, they said that this is not an option and I would have to pay for a the bottom part of my laptop to be replaced entirely. I am under DellCare Plus and think this is unfair that they have called this as wear and tear considering I don't even take my laptop out of the house! I would like someone to be in contact with me about this as I am very disappointed in the poor customer service.

For any users having the same issue on the DB14250, lets use this thread as the main one to track this issue. In any case, please contact Dell GHN (Get Help Now) chat technical support Monday through Friday. Click the blue "Get Help Now" on the right to start a private live chat session. Share the private Service Tag with them so that they can verify the ownership and warranty status. This will also generate a unique Technical Support case for your unique Service Tag. Inform the Dell Technical Support agent that they should read Dell Lightning Knowledge article 000455554 for next steps with the bottom cover.

@Emmall Would you be able to provide pictures of the bottom feet? Preferably one of the entire bottom cover and a 2nd close up of one of the rubber feets if possible. Typically, bottom feet coming off would indeed not be covered by the standard warranty as its normally considered a cosmetic issue. That said, if there are a lot of users experiencing the same issue, then it very well could be a Dell quality issue and is something we may have to address. I see you're already on this thread here as other users have reported the same issue. Clicking on the "me too" option greatly helps us escalate issues to our engineering teams. Can't make any promises about part replacement at this time, but it is something we will try to look at.

@DELL-Daniel V

Hi Daniel,

Please see below images, let me know if there is anything else I can help with to see if there is a possible solution to this.

I have the same problem on both my laptop and my wife's laptop, both Dell 14 plus 2-in-1s that are a few months old. I've contacted Dell and referenced

Lightning Knowledge article 000455554 and I'm still being told that this is "normal wear and tear" and that they won't fix it. This is NOT normal wear and tear - it's clearly a design or manufacturing flaw! Dell is totally wrong about this and should be ashamed of themselves for trying to avoid responsibility. Maybe if their bud Trump was having a problem, they'd respond?

@DELL-Daniel V I just did exactly what you suggested and Dell is telling me that this is normal wear and tear and they won't do anything, calling it normal wear and tear and saying it isn't covered by the warranty.

Hello, please add my complaint about this to Dell... my rubber feet issue looks just like the photos above... it is not normal wear and tear in my opinion. I only move it here and there inside the house. I do not pack it up in a sleeve or backpack that could rub against the feet. It's not acceptable to have to buy an entire new "bottom" to fix this problem. It sounds like what we all need is a new set of rubber feet.

Please help with this. Thank you.

@MJbythesea Please contact Dell GHN (Get Help Now) chat technical support Monday through Friday to get a case created. Click the blue "Get Help Now" on the right to start a private live chat session. Share the private Service Tag with them so that they can verify the ownership and warranty status. Inform the agent to review SFDC article 000455554. Share your pictures with the agent as well so that they can escalate the issue to the relevant teams. At this time, the rubber feet falling off is still under investigation by our engineering teams.

So I reported this problem and have gone through an exasperating series of requests for information from me, to the point of ridiculousness because they are all very much irrelevant to the issue of rubber feet coming off our laptops. My guess is that Dell is hoping I give up while waiting for an answer to a very simple matter. They want to call it normal wear and tear, which of course it isn't, and I want replacement feet. How long can that possibly take to decide? I am very much not impressed by Dell's so-called tech experts.
