Synology RS3621RPxs Vs. new Dell EMC, any advice?

Our current Dell EqualLogics are about due for retirement. I have a couple of RS3621RPxs that I'm using for various purposes -- backups, syncing down cloud data, etc. We are just kicking around the idea of moving our 20+TB worth of network drives to the Synology and sharing as network folders instead of purchasing new Dell SANs. I have a gut feeling this may be a bad idea w/ hundreds of users accessing these network drives, but I could be wrong. Does anyone use Synology for this type of storage and network drive access, and if so, how is it going for you?

I completely understand your concerns about switching storage systems. Synology can be a great choice for network sharing, but with such a large number of users, you should carefully consider performance hero clicker and scalability. If possible, test with a small portion of your data before deciding to move the whole thing.
