Synology RS3621RPxs Vs. new Dell EMC, any advice?

Our current Dell EqualLogics are about due for retirement. I have a couple of RS3621RPxs that I'm using for various purposes -- backups, syncing down cloud data, etc. We are just kicking around the idea of moving our 20+TB worth of network drives to the Synology and sharing as network folders instead of purchasing new Dell SANs. I have a gut feeling this may be a bad idea w/ hundreds of users accessing these network drives, but I could be wrong. Does anyone use Synology for this type of storage and network drive access, and if so, how is it going for you?

  • Synology RS3621RPxs is a great choice for SMBs or those looking for a cost-effective, user-friendly, and scalable NAS solution. It’s ideal for managing large volumes of data with a focus on ease of use, and its features are more than sufficient for businesses that need reliable storage without breaking the bank.

  • Dell EMC is the better choice for larger enterprises or organizations with more complex IT infrastructure needs. If you're looking for enterprise-grade scalability, performance, and deep integration with other systems (like VMware, cloud platforms, or hyper-converged environments), then a Dell EMC solution will give you the advanced features and support required for high-demand workloads.

If you're running a small to mid-sized operation, royaledle Synology is probably the smarter and more cost-effective option. If your needs are enterprise-level, with high demands for performance and scalability, Dell EMC will serve you better in the long run.
