Log with a user in DDPE and Windows open an other user
Hi everyone,
I had this issue 3 times in my company. I logged in Dell Data Protection with my username and password on a computer from a user, and it didn't open my session, it opened the session from the user.
Did someone have this problem and know why it happenend? As I said it happened 3 times in 1 year, but this is a serious problem .
Thanks

@Chavi02
From what I understand of your issue, User A logs into a machine protected by Dell Encryption. However instead of logging into User A profile, it logs into User B profile. Is this workflow correct?
If so, I don't believe it's our software as when you log into the machine it will match the user identification (UID) with the machine identification (MCID) within the credsys.vlt to unlock the data. If for any reason either the UID or MCID gets changed, the vault will update the records (against AD) to ensure accuracy is kept in terms of reporting and data security.
Have you spoken to your DDPE administration team in your company? If so, did they give you a reason to believe this is related to the Dell Encryption (DDPE) software?

Hi Brian,
Thank you for your reply.
Yes this workflow is correct.
Yes I already spoke to them but they didn't believe me. And it's difficult to make a video when this appears 3 times a year. But I will show with them one more time.
Thanks a lot

I understand how frustrating it is to try to replicate inconsistent behavior on a machine. Engineering, support, nor I have ever seen this situation get reported with the DDPE software.
Next time this occurs, you should be able to look at the CMGShield.log (\ProgramData\Dell\Dell Data Protection\Encryption) for your UserA and UserB to see how the user profile is unlocked during login:
Authentication - Successfully synchronized for [user name here]
Feel free private message the logs once this occurs (with general timestamp of occurrence) and I'm happy to point out any inconsistent behavior as well.
