Using DPA6.1.2 to check Data Domain age of equipment/born on date
All,
I am currently on DPA v6.1.2 in our environment and have configured close to 50 DD's to be monitored. I would like to know if there is a way to run a report that will show us the age of equipment/born on date".
I am highly doubtful as I was unable to find an option in DD EM and I don't think the dpaagent are gathering any such details but definitely wanted to check with others.

Well, if you really wanted to be clever, create a DPA job to make a CSV of DD boxes that it watches. You could write a shell script (or batch, or whatever) to SSH to each Data Domain for each DD and run system upgrade history, capture the returned data, and then grep for the INSTALL line. Save the results to a CSV and treat as an external data source if you need that info in DPA.
However, that's a lot of scripting.
Since this is information that would never change, and querying the device might not be 100% accurate in every case, to me, it would be almost just as easy to ask your EMC sales rep to provide a spreadsheet of DD name and original install date and then treat as an external data source.
