Tech Tip: DPA Data Collection from FC Switches

You can see all the data gathered by DPA for FC Switches by looking in the DPA 5.7 Data Collection Reference Guide (on Powerlink)

DPA gathers details from the MIB using SNMP.

Some examples:

• SFP quality of signals (TX,RX) – DPA gathers the Data/Frames In (RX) and Data/Frames Out (TX) as part of the FC Switch Performance request
• Errors presence on SFP: e.g. er_bad_os  and  er_crc as (Brocade terminology): DPA gathers errors as part of the FC Switch Performance request
• SFP Link Reset: e.g Brocade  SCN LR_PORT  command (State Change Notification - Port is active , Link reset is done)  - DPA gathers if the port link is active but it does not appear to gather if it has been reset
