problem accessing a single cifs share to a data domain 9900 with veritas backup
hi
we have a problem accessing a single cifs share to a data domain 9900 with veritas backup ,
Network Configuration
- The system is configured with two separate LACP aggregates:
- One (6 interfaces) dedicated to replication
- One (6 interfaces) dedicated to operational traffic, which includes CIFS, NFS, and DDBoost protocols.
Issue Specifics
- The problem occurs even when launching a single Veritas backup job towards a specific CIFS share.
- The backup job seems to start, but shortly after, connectivity to the share is lost and the job fails.
- Importantly, we do not see this problem on other CIFS shares exposed by the same Data Domain.
Stream Load
- We are aware that the Data Domain is occasionally approaching the maximum supported outbound stream limit (540), but we confirm that:
- The failure happens even with no other active jobs
- The issue is isolated to one share, and not observed on others, which seems to exclude global stream exhaustion as the root cause.
Authentication
- We previously had an issue with the CIFS credential (password expired), which has been resolved.
- Currently, authentication appears to succeed, but the session disconnects a few seconds after the backup starts.
any idea or experience about this issue ?
thanks
