Network Speed tests/tools on DD?
I can't find the SR or andy reference documents. Hope someone here knows. A couple of years ago we needed to verify network capacity client to Data Domain.
The tech at the time had me run some client server network tests using a command and tool available on the datadomain but can't find the original SR or notes or documentation.
it was an in memory tool like iperf . Ring any bells ?
Client is CentOS 6.2 1Gb network. TCP Tuned
DD670 Data Domain OS 5.2.5.0-414946

Indeed it is iPerf - details in here;
https://support.emc.com/docu61788_Data_Domain_Operating_System_Command_Reference_Guide,_5.7.pdf?language=en_US
net iperf server (on target)
net iperf client client ip.ip.ip.ip duration 60 interval 5 ( ON SOURCE -- ip is target Ip or hostname -- values are in seconds)
On each end run;
system show stats view net interval 5
This will show you the throughput at each NIC - you can run that at both ends...

Apart from iperf which is built-in into DD and even supplies windows/unix iperf binaries, look into the ddpconnchk tool, which is a ddboost standalone tool for different platforms and for different DDOS versions. can test basic connectivity functionality of ddboost but also can perform actual write/read tests.
You can run it with one session but also with multiple. An 8 session write/read test shows for instance:
Cumulative Write Throughput: 1170.29 MB/s
Cumulative Read Throughput: 910.22 MB/s
For more info and how to download the tool see: https://support.emc.com/kb/201919
