dd3300 bonding and dns entries for nics
Hi there,
I'm looking for optimal dd3300 network configuration and I really appreciate any inputs or insights…
Avamar VM will be connected to this DD3300 through ddboost.
I was thinking to use bonding feature by leveraging 2 x 10GbE SFP+ ports however, the only option is "failover" which means only one of them is active. I also don’t have any idea about underlying Vmware vswitch configuration on DD3300.
Anyway, I guess the other alternative is to configure both ports individually and then setting up DNS round-robin for active-active usage. Would this be okay or do you guys have any other suggestions or might be another alternative?
One more thing is about ethMa, I can connect this port to 1 GbE switch and use as a management port with different dns name. Would this create any issue for backup data//ddbost traffic?
Thanks in advance

The preferred methos is IFGROUPS (DDBOOST ifgroups)
If the protocol being used in ddboost, ifgroups provide a logical load balancing of the ddboost traffic and it does not require to tinker with other network configurations.
Let me know if you need a clarification,

The DNS page allows you to configure how the system obtains IP addresses for DNS servers in a ... Archive Tier storage is not available on the DD3300 system, or on DD VE instances. Table 10 ... accepts entries separated by commas, by spaces, or both. ... Registry settings can be different from the bonding configuration.

Should you only have a DNS entry for 1 of the NICs or make an identical DNS A record for each NIC/IP?
