Can we stop incoming data (data ingestion) to one particular Mtree in datadomain

Can we stop  incoming data (data ingestion) to one particular Mtree in datadomain:

Hi Guys,

We have been migrating the data from data domain A to data domain B. for one particular  MTree we are getting data is getting ingested from   DB backup.

Is there any way Can we stop  incoming data (data ingestion) to one particular Mtree in data domain.

Hi Vishwanath.krishnappa@anz.com,

There is nothing you can do explicitly from an Mtree perspective.

However, depending upon how you write to this Mtree, i.e. via CIFS/VTL/NFS/DDBoost, and the version of DDOS, then you could potentially:

- If CIFS is used, modify the share to either restrict to one IP address that you know will not write (or perhaps a dummy IP) or modify the maximum connections to 0.

- If NFS is used, modify the share to be read only.

- If VTL is used, modify the tapes in question to read only by modifying the writeprotect option.

- If DDBoost is used, remove the client from the allowed IP list, or implement a hard quota.

rename mtree, that will do it.
