WD22TB4, November 2022, 1 year warranty, quote states 3 year warranty

Hi,

I purchased a laptop and a WD22TB4 docking station in November 2022. The laptop came with a 1 year warranty, which was clearly stated and fully understood at the time of purchase.

However, according to the product page and the quote I received, the WD22TB4 docking station comes with a 3 year limited warranty. While this may have changed since then, my documentation (including the quote) clearly reflects that a 3 year Basic warranty was included.

I’m now experiencing an issue with the docking station, but the system shows no warranty. Additionally, the invoice does not show a separate line item for the dock.

I’d like to understand why this is the case? An agent suggested the dock was purchased as an accessory with the laptop, but during the call, we reviewed the checkout process and whether bought as a bundle or standalone, the dock always includes a 3 year warranty. There was no option to modify or remove this. We also cross checked pricing, and I paid more than the standalone dock price, so it’s not a discounted or promotional item that might have had different terms.

At the time of purchase, I made the decision based on the understanding that the dock included a 3 year warranty. Now, Dell seems to be refusing support based solely on how the item appears on the invoice. This is incredibly disappointing and feels misleading.

Who can assist in resolving this?
