Warranty pricing, #2
@ejn63 your answer on this 2018 thread is very explanatory and rational. It is pointless to flag "Consumer Service" on everything. The days when marketers are educated to fulfill customer needs or customer 1st have long gone. Shareholders interest prevails over everything. If there is no money in it, no one provides a service. I agree saving those "extended warranty" money for computer repair shops instead.

@babasupo not quite. Modern laptops have components closely packed and plastic chassis not designed for frequent opening and close. When it is opened for replacing motherboard, there are collateral consumables & parts to replace apart from the motherboard alone. Plastics become weak over the years so can break when unscrewed. The matching daughter board or touchpad board may also need be replaced to match the motherboard as well. I have repaired Dell laptops as a business for 20 years. Go buy the parts to repair yourself then you will stop wasting on these "researches".
