Unclaimed Property Letter

Dear Dell,

I received an "unclaimed property letter" from "Dell Inc. Unclaimed Property Dept MS RR1-18 at One Dell Way, Round Rock, TX 48682. The letter is addressed to Michael Gorden (who is a representative of our organization) and was sent to our address.

The letter states, "In a recent review of your account with us, we discovered that Dell owed you the following: Date (8/24/2021), Amount ($1,245.14)." The letter goes on to ask us to respond within 14 days, or the amount will be remitted to the state as unclaimed property. 

My question for Dell is this: Is this a legitimate letter? I ask because a search of the internet says that these letters are not real. We did make a large transaction in July of 2021, just before the date of the order listed above, so it has us questioning what we should do in this situation. Please advise. Thank you.
