Trying to extend a warrantry from a new country of residence
I moved from one EU to another in 2023. The warranty on my laptop expired in Jan 2025. Before it did so, I contacted Dell by phone and online to ask that it be extended but with the new address, a new payment currency and from a new bank account. That service tag remains unanswered over 100 days later. A new service tag of 30+ days is also unanswered. I've contacted technical and sales online over the last couple of months but the former can't/won't help, and the latter (in Sweden) passes me to the new country. I can't reach Dell NL and emails over the last week to nl_sb_callback@dell.com have gone unanswered. I don't want to have to keep calling Sweden because I'm liable to international cell call rates (and Dell is, of course, a global company so surely this shouldn't be required).
Surely it can't be this hard. I must have reached out 20+ times now over about four months and for what is surely a simple request. And the simple task of updating my address? It can't be done online because the site doesn't recognise the new postcode. Why? Because it is a Dutch postcode whereas the site seems to have locked in Sweden as my home country. And to top it off, if I'm finally able to extend my warranty from the Netherlands and in EUR then I'm seemingly liable to pay a late extension fee because 30 days have passed since my old warranty expired.
Would someone in Dell please assist me in getting this over the line....? If I were to read this I'd assume that the customer is grouchy and there must be more to it. Yes, I've become grouchy but there is no more to it: I simply can't reach anyone who has the ability/authority/interest to action this. In the meantime, service tags just sit there for months and months, unanswered.
