The infamously (incorrect) Dell delivery estimate...
This is probably just another voice in the growing chorus of concern — a duplicate thread, buried in a slew of others — but here I am, holding onto the fragile hope that Dell’s estimated delivery date might still hold true.
I placed my order 3–4 days ago, and the estimated delivery was set as today. It seemed reasonable — not overly optimistic. But here’s the issue:
The order hasn’t moved past “Order Confirmed.” It’s still listed as:
“Your order is being scheduled for production and is on track to meet the estimated arrival date.”
No movement. No tracking.
No dispatch.
And yet… the delivery date remains boldly set as today.
This is odd for a few reasons:
a) Am I to believe Dell is custom-building this monitor — bespoke to order — just for me? Given how long it’s been sitting in production limbo, I sincerely hope so.
b) Surely someone, somewhere, could implement a basic logic check like:
“If the item hasn’t entered production by [estimated delivery date - 1], push the delivery estimate forward by at least a day.”
Even the smallest of online sellers — yes, even those on eBay — seem to offer more accurate and dynamic ETAs than a company of Dell’s size.
Maybe I’m being impatient (arguably true), but when you’re paying a very significant sum for hardware, the least one expects is transparency — or at the very least, plausibility. Some form of insight into what’s going on behind the scenes. Anything to indicate the system knows it’s not possible to deliver a product that hasn’t even been built yet.
It’s not just frustrating. It’s baffling. And frankly, if this drags on or devolves into a support ticket loop, it will be the last time I order directly from Dell.
I’m not asking for miracles — just realistic communication. I’d rather the date be pushed back and accurate, than be strung along with false hope. If there were (or are) stock issues, why is this not communicated either?
And yes — if any support agent is reading — my payment was processed fine. There was no delay at all in ensuring the money was taken instantly.
Shame that same level of efficiency doesn’t extend to the order itself.
This really needs to be sorted. For a company of Dell’s stature, in 2025, this simply isn’t acceptable.
And it might sound overdramatic — if I hadn’t already seen so many others echoing the exact same concern all over the internet, some of them appear to go on for 30-40 days+

I placed an order with the understanding it would be delivered within 2–3 days — it’s now delayed by a whole month.
My original post highlighting this issue has conveniently vanished, <The AI marked it. The post just had to be approved. DELL-Admin> which only raises more red flags. Shame on you, Dell.
A colossal stock mismanagement, a complete lack of transparency, and now what appears to be customer censorship rather than customer service.
I won’t be ordering from you again.

I am starting to think I am better off calling my credit card company and file a stop payment for a fraudulent company! My shipment has been waiting over a week to be picked up by shipping company and there is no other updates to my account status. I should have started here first and gone to Walmart to save myself the hassle of calling overseas for help.
