Price Match policy, denied over and over again

Dell Sales is denying a price match for Manufacturer part BX1500M | Dell part A9870993 | Order Code a9870993 | American Power Conversion.  I chatted on monday, called on wed, and received no answer.  Friday I was told the price match was denied every time.

I have read the policy, and a desktop UPS is in no way has a "configurable Configuration" as the rep stated. nor would anyone consider this an enterprise item.  4 separate contacts, only to be told the price match is denied in the last contact, no one contacted me back ever like they stated, and at first the reason is unclear, and now they came up with a new reason.

Deny, Deny, Deny  is the tactic.  If you won't price match a a UPS sold at consumer retails stores like amazon and bestbuy, then you won't price match anything.  Not to mention that the UPS is listed in the accessories category.

But props to the rep for the insane contortion of "Any Customizable Configuration"  claim that this item is ineligible due to:

"Different Configuration Types:
There are various UPS configurations, such as single module, parallel redundant, isolated redundant, and distributed redundant. "

You would think a "configurable device"  would have a configure button on the product page.

Customer Care AI agent will likely respond with an automated message for you to check back on Mon - Friday during business hours.

Am just curious about what kind of advantage from a price match that would make someone going through all the hassles of collecting required information and submitting the price match request.

Why not just buy it from whichever the store you found with the low price?

Amex statement credits for use at dell.com and the fact that they advertise low price guarantee that they consistently deny price matches to make the customer go away.  Call me crazy, but if you advertise a policy you should stand by it.  Calling a ups a "configurable device" to deny a price match is insane.  By that standard, they could deny a price match for anything,   which is the point.

Last time they denied it for being an enterprise level device.  Of course dell.com has them in the accessories category,   maybe it's an enterprise accessories.

Not all customer service agents will interpret the price match rules the same way.  If you don't mind the hassle, you might want to keep on submitting the requests and maybe one of them will approve your price match.

Good luck,
