Precision 5490, not functional, want to return it

Hi,

I bought a Dell laptop Precision 5490 last July 2024. Since last January a problem started to show itself and it has not yet been resolved which has basically made it impossible for me to work with this laptop. The problem is that sometimes when I close the lid, the led at the bottom of the mouse starts to flash (8 blue and 1 orange) and while this happens the laptop does not turn on. This happened very frequently and the only way I can restart the laptop is to force the shut-down by keep pressing the power button. I am subscribed to the pro-support program so I called the technical support and have been in touch with them for the last 4 months. They tried different things including replacing the motherboard. The motherboard replacement was already repeated for 2 times and the issue still persists. The senior technician at Dell support does not have a clear plan to actually help me and resolve this issue. I bought this laptop for my AI research work and I need to work with it all the time because I have to report to my supervisor regularly. This laptop has caused me a lot of troubles since I bought it last summer and several hours of troubleshooting just wasted. I paid quite a lot of money because I needed a high-end laptop so I can get some work done. Right now the laptop does not even turn on and the technical support has scheduled yet another motherboard replacement. Please help me. What are my options? I would like to return this laptop. Could you help me with this process?
