Potentially suspicious email claiming to be dell with service tag information
Received an email from a Marius C., Global Customer Field Action (GCFA), Dell Technologies Services Product & Engineering from the email address Dell_Quality_WW@dell.com.
Email stated that that there is a known issue with my desktop (they gave my exact PC type) and that repair/replacement was recommended. They provided the service tag to the computer as well.
They left a # 1-800-456-3355, which to my understanding is confirmed Dell # to contact but when I called customer support today to enquire about this email and the lack of follow up on a previous service request, the technician stated that the above email is a phishing scam as he could see no record.
Is this a valid email or not? The email did not request any personal information and provided a link to www.Dell.com/support and what looks to be a valid #.
Additionally, the support technician disconnected without completing my service request and issue that was first initiated on 6 September 2023. Very disappointed with the customer support during my warranty period.
