m18 R2, Best Buy, no service tag found
Recently purchased my Alienware M18 R2. From the bios, Manufacturer Date was Feb 1st 2025, Ownership Date was Mar 26th 2025. When I try to register my device on Dell website, it says "Invalid Service Tag". I also tried to use the OS Recovery Tool to do a fresh install, it shows "Model ID: Not available, The service tag does not exist." Tried searching using Express Service Code will show "No express service code found." In the SupportAssist program, Service Plan shows "Details not available." The Service Tag sticker on the bottom of the laptop matches the service tag in the bios.
I'm at a lost here, please help. Thanks in advance.

You need to ask Best Buy. If the can't resolve the issued, return the system for a refund.

@ejn63 Not Best Buy's issue. It's a Dell product, so I contacted Dell customer service phone number. I'm certain the call center is outside of Canada, because someone actually answered my call at 5am PST.
The agent asked for my purchase invoice, a picture of the printed side of the power supply, and a picture of a hand written note with my name, service receipt number (obtain via agent) and the date and time, on a piece of paper next to the sticker of the Service Tag.
That's it, the agent said he'll forward my info to the warranty team and get back to me by email within two business days.
Not sure will that really work, so I will keep this thread open for other agents that are willing to help me expedite the process.
