Longtime Dell Customer, never again

I’ve been a loyal Dell customer for years, but after my most recent experience, I will never purchase another Dell product again.

My issue started with a Dell laptop that developed a serious hardware problem just outside the warranty window. Despite being a known issue with swelling batteries that affect other components (including the touchpad), Dell refused to take any accountability. Their responses were dismissive, scripted, and unhelpful. I was passed around between departments, and ultimately told that my only option was to pay full price for out-of-warranty repairs on a premium device that barely lasted two years.

Even worse, I was told at one point that the sales team had been contacted and would offer discount options. That turned out to be completely false, a flat-out lie. After multiple follow-ups, I was back to square one: no assistance, no ownership of the issue, and no willingness to even offer a gesture of goodwill.

This company clearly has no loyalty to its customers and zero interest in standing behind its products. I expected better from Dell, especially given how long I’ve trusted their brand. I’ve spent thousands on their machines over the years, but after this experience, that ends now.

I’ll be leaving reviews like this on every platform possible to warn others. Dell's build quality is not what it used to be, and their customer support is even worse.

If you think the situation will be any different with HP, ASUS, etc. -- it won't.

If you replace the system, whatever you buy next a minimum three year warranty is a must.  No manufacturer is going to repair an out of warranty system, regardless of what you buy.
