Inspiron 15 3525, screen hinge issue

I purchased this laptop in October 2023. As you can see from the image below the screen surround has pulled away from the screen. I am still able to use the machine but to prevent further damage I am having to keep the laptop permanently open. This is obviously not the way I wish to use the machine and so I consider that not fit for purpose. The laptop has not been dropped, has been opened and closed holding the centre of the lid and over the 18 months I have had it, it has rarely left my home. I do not believe that I have caused the damage but consider it to be a design fault, possibly with the hinge. I hope you will agree with me and will repair the machine. I would mention that I have a Dell desktop that I purchased in 2012 and it is still going and  has never had to be repaired. I thought therefore that the name Dell was synonymous with quality but perhaps I'm mistaken. I look forward to hearing from you. Yours faithfully, Roy V
