eBay purchase, Dell warranty transfer

If I purchase a computer from eBay, the listing states that it has Dell warranty. Am I able to have the warranty transferred to my name? What if the seller isn't the original owner, am I still able to transfer the warranty to my name without the original owner information? I am getting conflicting answers and would like to the real answer to my question. Thank you
