Do I really lose order history when changing email address?
Is there really no way to update my email address without losing my order history? Will my service contract be voided as well?
I've purchased Dell systems for about 30 years, almost since the beginning. I now have a XPS 9520 laptop.
I wanted to update my email address in my account but I see that I will lose order history for this 3 year old laptop? It's funny because Dell still has an M1210 laptop in my account that I bought back in 2006.
I find it hard to believe that Dell can't handle an email address change without penalizing the customer this way. My last purchase was an HP laptop for a spouse. Between the frequent blue screens on my XPS 9520 and inability to do something as simple as an email address change, maybe HP and Apple are in my future.
P.S. I worked in IT support for 10 years so I know how to fix blue screens, and I still can't fix this Dell laptop. I have a service contract, but I don't want someone in a call center to just tell me to reinstall Windows.

Well it's been 2 months since the auto response to this fellows question and I see no non automated reply yet. I have the same question. I am migrating away from the google ecosystem and changing my email address on everything. I would hate to have to maintain my gmail just for dell alone. I realize today is a weekend as well so will likely get a similar auto-response. But it's July now, there should have been some response to this question by now.
