device returned after "repair" by Dell technical support in Greece

I have contacted Dell technical support in Athens Greece in order to have my Dell laptop repaired after a wine spill on it.

After two months I received the device back not repaired and actually in worst condition than before I send it for repair. 

I have tried to communicate with the technical dpartment in Greece which reffered to thesales department in INDIA. I am fully dissapointed and before taking the matter further I am trying to contact Dell outside Greece just in case there is a possibility to solve the metter quickly and amicably.

I sent you a copy of my last email to dell technical support and i will be happy to provide you with any more infomration or documents than you may need

You returned my device to me in worse condition than you received it. Specifically, you received the device at the end of January. The device worked normally. Its only problems (I had written them down and sent them to you with the device) were:

 

1: Some gestures on the touchpad were not performed such as up down scrolling etc

2: The On/Off button did not work when the device was not connected to an external supply

3: Some buttons (spacebar) had a strange feel but worked

 

All the problems had arisen after wine had been spilled on the laptop.

 

You made the diagnosis, you decided that the motherboard, keyboard, touchpad and LCD screen (WHY??) should be changed. No battery problem was mentioned anywhere! I paid the requested amount (around 800 euros) immediately and asked for the repair to be performed asap.

 

Initially the repair was delayed due to an incorrect part that allegedly was sent to you, and finally after 2 months on 24/3/2025 I am informed with a simple email that my device cannot be repaired, the amount was refunded. No further explanation!!! I received the device on 24.3.2025 with the battery outside the device. The device no longer works even when connected to an external charger!

 

As you can understand, the situation is unacceptable.

I sent the device as instructed, you performed the diagnosis and the non-repair and despite all my repeated emails seeking a logical explanation for the delay and why while 70% of the basic components of the device were replaced, only the Processor and Ram were not changed, it did not work I never received a satisfactory answer, only polite replies with no commitment to anything . I am sure you can see all these in your records Instead, 2 months later I receive a device with a nominal value of 2000-2500 euros in worse condition than the one I sent, the battery is removed (why??) and the device is not working not even on external power.

 

I would like someone responsible from your company to contact me in a last attempt to solve the problem immediately, understand that it is not possible for me to accept the destruction of my device by the official dealership/technical service of DELL
