Dell Lost My Laptop

On 12/2/24, I ordered a laptop and UPS attempted delivery on 12/4, but I was not home.

UPS wanted me to sign the door tag so they could leave it on my doorstep but I refused as it would be stolen.

I called Dell and asked to pickup the laptop at the UPS terminal but they refused and said this caused too much fraud.

They said I could have it delivered to another residential address so I selected my friend's house and provided his name, address and telephone number.

Dell changed the address.

I called Dell and spoke to a manager before it was delivered. 

He called supposedly called UPS and corrected the address.

My laptop was delivered to the wrong address and a stranger I never heard of  signed for it.

I have spoken, emailed and chatted with numerous Dell employees and they promise to fix it with two business days but, I still do not have my laptop.

When I track the order on the Dell web site, it says it was successfully delivered to my hole address, not the stranger's house where it was actually delivered.

I am now out nearly $2,000 and no one at Dell has done anything to fix this.

I would really like to receive the product I payed for.

Dell has now made good on this and sent a replacement laptop. 

I do appreciate them correcting the error. 

If only they had done this weeks ago I could have avoided days of heartburn.

The Dell website now shows it was delivered to my home address but the UPS website shows it being delivered to the wrong address and signed for by a stranger.

Dell now says they will not process a return or refund.

How can Dell say it was delivered to my home when UPS, who delivered it, says it was not?

Oh man Skip you are in for a fight here. 
I had the same thing happened to me.

 Dell Customer service is the worst.

I have always had good support from Dell over the years so, this incident has been a rather unpleasant surprise for me.

@SkipTech . No it has not been resolved. Last update i had from Dell Collections was they are still waiting to hear back from Fedex (3-4 weeks now). Which is weird cause I can call them and get a hold of a person in 5 minutes
