Delivery late, concerned what will happen UK

Question

I ordered my Laptop on the 11th September, it said the 20th it would be delivered, currently it's the 22nd, it says it's at my local delivery depot, which is great but I organised everything so I would be able to accept it on Friday, now it says it's Monday and I have work that I can't not go to, I work 12 hrs so I can't go home untill 6pm, this is an expensive item and I'm terrified they will leave it on my doorstep while I'm out and it will get stolen, Is there anyway to pick it up from the depot myself?

@Hardyc​ it's been delivered and I have received it due to my sister waiting for it for an extra 20 mins.

EDIT - Also for some more context, they didn't update me until the 20th saying the 23rd which is also annoying, it's also been stuck at at your local depot for the last 2 days
