Canon printer did not work out of the box

Canon printer did not work out of the box & I have been trying to return it for 10 days & getting run around. No one seems to know what & how to get it return. I always owned Dell products for past 20+ years & now I am having different thoughts. Does anyone have a better idea to deal with this hassle? I tried via email, phone calls & online return help. NOTHING worked for me.
