Awful Support - Leaving Alienware after being a customer since 2004
I am currently using an Alienware 17 for work in a dock, and upgraded to an Alienware Area 51 16.
I was very happy with the machine and purchased it on promotion for $900 off at Best Buy.
Once I try to use MS Teams, I notice my external camera, and the onboard mic drivers are conflicting. No problem call support. Support does not know what they are doing. In the end they tell me to call Logitech.
The camera / mic does not have a problem on my desktop, or old Alienware laptop. I tell support if they cannot resovle the issue I will have to return the laptop, and I don't want to.
After hours on the phone getting nowhere, I return the laptop. Then I call business solution sales and they talk to product and tell me that the camera is fully compatible. I will now need to repuchse the laptop for $900.00 more.
I tell them I am not buying another Alienware until support confirms they will resolve the issue. He tells me to ask for a supervisor. The supervisor is no help and tells me they cannot help me. I ask her to talk to product, and she transfers me then will not accept my calls again.
After 21 years of being a customer and 6 laptops I am considering going to HPe.
Does anyone at Dell care about long term customer retention or accountability anymore?

DId you try the camera directly connected to the notebook? And what model dock are you using (and do you know that Dell doesn't support docking stations on Alienware notebooks)?
