How to setup email notification in CMCNE (DCFM) ?
Hi there,
I am trying to setup email notification for our switches in DCFM. I followed DCFM document to setup Email notification. The test email is working fine. But I didn't get any email alerts. I enabled "Email Notification" in Monitor menu and also enabled notification for the user administrator. Can somebody tell me what is missing here?

I guess the first question is what you are hoping to get notified of? I haven't been in there for a while, but I seem to remember actually having to set up specific alert activities for what I wanted to get notified on.
Have a look in the Event Actions section I think to define things you want to be notified on. If I'm not mistaken, all you have done so far is set up the e-mail configuration so that when you have an event action notify by e-mail it will work.

I have been over this a few times and have been getting mixed results. At
one point I had the basics setup (port offline, device offline, link
utilization threshold >65% for example) however my master log has ceased to
gather/display any of these external events from my fabrics even though they
occur.
If I log directly to the FC switches, SNMPv3 has my CM server IP listed and
I also have accesscontrol allowed for my CM server IP as well. Again it was
working at one point however my master log only lists local notifications now
(purge jobs, configuration backup validations, sever logins etc).
I get the feeling the feeling the CM server has a global setting for
external event reception that I may have changed or misconfigured. If I reboot
my CM server the master log initially populates with many messages as it
appears to initially pole all the switches, after that no new event come
through as they happen on my fabrics.
The 3K page user guide leaves a lot to be desired as well. For example it
has you menu navigate to options that aren’t even existent. It seems that the
guide has been version merged several times and configuration options haven't
really been validated. Frustrating.
I recently upgraded my 11.1.1. to 11.2.1 with no new results. Eagerly
awaiting the new v12 next month in hopes that it clears this up. Hopefully a
new manual is posted too.
Any ideas on this master log issue would be greatly appreciated.
