EMC/Brocade DS-5300B error switch set to faulty - HELP!
We have a EMC/Brocade DS-5300B which has developed the following fault, if anyone can shed some light it would be greatly appreciated, are we missing something very simple or is it something more sinister.
On boot-up the switch serial output give the following soft error.
[HAM-1004],, CHASSIS, INFO, DS_5300B, Processor rebooted - Reboot
After the reboot we get the following fatal error output.
[EM-1034],, CHASSIS ERROR, DS_5300B, Switch set to faulty, rc=20045.
The switch remains in a faulted (offline) state.
chassisshow command doesn't reveal any issues.
switchshow command show the switch in an offline state and doesn't show any ports available.
errshow command show a number of soft and fatal errors all relating to the chassis being faulted (see below)
[RAS-1001],, CHASSIS INFO, DS_5300B, First failure data capture (FFDC)
[EM-1034],, CHASSIS ERROR, DS_5300B, Switch set to faulty, rc=20045.
[TRCE-1001],, CHASSIS WARNING, DS_5300B, Trace dump available! (reason: FFDC)
[TRCE-1004],, CHASSIS, WARNING, DS_5300B, Trace dump was not transferred because trace auto_FTP disabled
Thanks in advance for your comments.
Regards - Paul

Hi Paul,
I'd recommend you open a case with the emc 'connectivity' team after collecting a supportsave from the switch.
The core file from the switch might be able to explain what caused the issue.
Brocade B-Series: How to collect logs from a Brocade B-Series switch from a Windows 2000 host with Hyperterminal.
https://support.emc.com/kb/4724
I went looking for a simlar error and the nearest match was bug 'DEFECT000273131' which is reported as fixed in firmware version 6.3.1. In case theres old firmware on the switch..
https://support.emc.com/docu20172_Connectrix_B_Series_Fabric_OS_6.3.1a_Release_Notes.pdf?language=en_US
With that bug the customer was getting the following error
Backend port fault triggered blade fault with raslog: [EM-1034], 22744, SLOT 4 | CHASSIS,
ERROR, , Slot 2 set to faulty, rc=20015.
No an exact match but very simlar.
