Why RAID10 is allocated when only Efficiency profile is used
Hi. SCv2020 here. We only have 1 type of storage and 1 set of storage profile in use, Maximize Efficiency, which would be RAID6. However, referring to the picture (Storage Type) below, it shows that "RAID 10-DM" is allocated, which I assume would only do had Balanced or Maximize Performance profile been used, but neither of which is used (as shown below where volume count shows 0 on those profiles and 3 on Maximize Efficiency).
Why is it so? Thanks
FYI: We only used Balanced profile briefly for testing during the initial SAN setup as it was the default setting that came with the SAN. However, we reset the storage and used Maximize Efficiency ever since.

Hello darienwu,
When you look at storage types that shows the current types that you are using. When you look at the storage profiles that is showing you based on the profile that are available you are using only the Maximize Efficiency. The other two profiles will show in the profile list but since you don’t have any volumes using those profiles they are not in use.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Thank you for the prompt answer. Just to clarify, I assume we should not be concerned about releasing the space indicated (in the picture) being used by RAID10 storage type (i.e. it would not consume any actual disk space) as we only have volumes of RAID6 (Maximum Efficiency) in use in reality under storage profile?
Kindly correct me if I am wrong.

Hello darienwu,
You are correct. Since there are no volumes using that raid it is not in use.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

I would like to supplement with a few more screenshots regarding why our volumes, while being Maximize Efficiency (RAID6) storage profile, are actually allocated to both RAID10 and RAID6 storage types as circled below.
Again, kindly inform us if this is of any concern. Thanks.

Hi,
We have the same issue as described in this topic. We changed our volumes to Maximize Efficiency, but data is still written as RAID10. How did you solved this?
