VASA Port is currently disabled

I have installed dsitv and registred the virtual center server in the storage manager client.

But I can't register the VASA provider in the storage manager client, it is showing 'VASA Port is Currently Disabled'

Any hints how to enable this port ?

Hello Stephan-thevalley,

Which model of Compellent system do you have?  What is the current version of SCOS that is running on your System?

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Hello Stephan-thevalley,

Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall?  I also was able to find this article that you can try as well to resolve your issue.  https://dell.to/36COAsv

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Sam,

I tried updating to SCOS 7.4.2 today, but this didn't help.
When you say uninstall/reinstall, which plugin do I need to try to reinstall ?

From the linked article :
'One possibility is that the VASA provider (vsanvpd) is not running on the host. This can be examined easily by checking the status of vsanvpd with the init script:'

On which host should this be running, on a vmware host or on one of the appliances.
dsitv or dsm-va, both of them are fresh installed this week.

Regards,

Stephan

Hello Stephan-thevalley,

Is port 3034 open on your firewall?  When I checked deeper on this that is one of the main reason that you can get this error.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Sam,

On which machine is this port 3034 being used ? (from which machines are the connecting being made to which server/port 3034?)
Most machines are already in the same subnet.

Regards,

Stephan
