storage manager data collector exit value 2
Trying to connect to my Compellent via Data Storage Manager client. Not able to and found that the Storage Manager Data Collector ( 2016R2) isn't running. When I get into the GUI and try to start the Data Collector service I get the following error pop up:
Command returned an unexpected exit value [Exit Value: 2] [Expect Value: 0]
Tried a reboot but still get the same error.
Any ideas?

Hello wbrunc,
Is MS SQL service running on your host or no? Have you also verified that all ports are open as well? Is Java installed on the server that the Data Collector is installed on? The Storage Manager Data Collector has an internal Java installed so if there is a second version of Java on the server it may be in conflict with the internal Java. I would suggest to uninstall any versions of Java on the server, and reboot the server. If this is a Virtual Server then take a snapshot of the server before making any changes.

I decided to upgrade the software with the latest version and that fixed things.
