scv2020 firmware, or repair/replace controller module

scv2020 firmwere/repair/replace controller module

Hello everyone.
I have a problem with my DELL SCv2020:

Main controller module (sn211689) don't start normally. Seems like problem with BIOS (pic. 1)

Secondary controller module (sn211688) (pic.2) loads in "safe mode" and not switch from this state. I try to change state in CLI, module demands login/pass, but it did not work. And USB-storage with file "unlock.phy" did not help (this USB works well on the different SCv2020).

I try to plug the secondary controller module in another SC, but can not load it in normal state, not in "safe mode".

Nick Ya,

Based on the ssn's in the description, as well as the 2nd picture, it appears you put ssn 211688 in the bottom slot, and it's meant to be in the top slot. While it is possible that the 1st screenshot is somehow related to you having the controllers in the wrong slots, so I would suggest starting by putting them in the right slots, and see what happens.

Let me know what you see.

@DELL-Chris H

I switched them.
sn211688 - top (pic_03)

sn211689 - bottom. Won't start at all (nothing in console).

Hello, for this instance, I say you need a Dell engineer visit to your site. It will need a controller reset and is advised against a non Dell technician touching it. Has this controller been transferred from another system?

@DELL-Young E , as far as i know, controller module belongs to this system.

What options do i have? I can provide remote control to the platform with access to this device.

Hi, I'm not very familiar compollent series however as I can see you already put it top to lower serial number controller. If reseating controller doesn't help, try to connect a serial cable to the console of each controller. Then you can try to this article dell compellent sc2020 sc2040 freeze – It`s simple when you know how ! (https://dell.to/49eTk8V)

@Dell-ErmanO , i connected via console to the both controllers.

sn211689 - does not start correctly, looks like problem with bios. (first picture in first message).

sn211688 - starts, but does not accept any comand. I try to use commands for exiting from the safe mode - not help.
